On Sunday 5th May the Wasps Youth Section held its annual End of Season Awards, recognising players in all age groups from u13 to Colts / u18. Awards voted for in each age for Players Player, Coaches Player, Most Improved, and Honours Tie. In addition for the younger ages groups the TREDS Cup and older boys the Ivan Sharpe Cup.

This year, we have the privilege of being joined by a recent Wasps youth graduate, ex school 1st XV captain and all round exceptional athlete, who went on to be selected and play for Middlesex, the London Irish Academy, which won the U18 Premiership Cup in 2023. A particularly strong year for Wasps youth, as we had [6+] players in that Cup winning squad.

He then went on to win U20 international caps for Poland last year, and this year progressed to couple of full mens caps. Alex Pama, presented the awards, and whose name will be up on our honours Board and Polish shirt will be hanging in the bar soon. What’s also testament to the sort of club we are is that 3 of Alex’s coaches at Wasps are still coaching, and here today, and they were all 4 just playing touch together last Thursday evening.
